Place-name search
Below is a form in which you may enter the start of a name, or the latitude and/or longitude limits between which a name is to be found. Latitudes and longitudes may be entered either as decimal degrees or as degrees, minutes and seconds; in the latter case you may separate the degrees, minutes and seconds with any non-numeric character. South latitude or west longitude is indicated either by a minus sign at the start, or the suffix "S" or "W".
If not entered, the northern latitude defaults to 60°S, the southern latitude to 90°S, the western longitude to 90°W and the eastern longitude to 0°E.
To search for details of a place-name, type the first part of the name in the box. Do not use an asterisk (*).
To search for place-names within an area enter the corner coordinates of the area. Latitudes and Longitudes can be entered as decimal degrees, or degrees, minutes and seconds. In the latter case, the degrees, minutes and seconds can be separated by any non-numeric character. Use a minus sign at the start, or the suffix "S" or "W" to indicate South latitude and West longitude.
